Well I decided to build my Yugo kit on a receiver that I bought more then a few years ago since I have been out of building AKs for a while.  I got the front trunnion riveted in and found out that the holes for the rear trunnion (under folder) were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of spec.  After a few hours of careful drilling and grinding, I got that problem fixed.  Now I got everything together and mags will not seat in the rifle, the trigger guard holes were drilled to far forward.  Nothing on this receiver was drilled in the proper place and I am bumed that I have wasted so much time on this.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct the trigger guard?  Can I grind all of the rivets out and egg the holes enough to push it back?  I have not had much luck in the past with egging holes and not having the piece shift on my when I go to rivet it in.  The receiver is a Vulcan and I can see from some reading that they are known for making junk.  I wish I would have known that four-five years ago.

Man...thats a bummer.  You are probably better off just getting the correct NDS receiver and finding a new rear trunion and triggerguard if needed. You will probably just end up going crazy trying to get the Vulcan to work....and it may actually never work.

All that would have been easier to explain if you just said you had a Vulcan to begin with.  While they have done "ok" in the AK arena they have horrible work in things like ARs.  I got one from Ohio Rapid Fire (they did not say who it was from, but for $35 it was hard to pass up).  I was lucky, only problem was the holes for the rear trunion were too far back and I fixed that.  As far as the question of mag location you may be able to fix that, but it really depends on what is going on.  Is the frong mag catch line up with the receiver or is it a case of the front trunion being fo far back?  That will dictate what will be necessary.  My suggestion is, since you had to ask go with a Nodak receiver (they are absolutely perfect/amazing) and rebuild.  The little you save by trying to make this one work you waste in time, money and reliability.
