I need some help with my romanian G build. I got part of the kit demilled and decided to take the rest of it to a machine shop to have it demilled completely. I was astonished to learn they wanted $75 for that task. I let them keep the parts (I now regret that) and will pick them up on Friday this week.
I will need some help getting them put together on my NDS-3 and if anyone in San Antonio has the know-how, a press, and wants to meet an arfcommer, I'll bing some beer over. UPDATE: Here are some build pics so far. I will finish the build tonight or tomorrow. I went and bought a press from Harbor Freight. I broke my bolt cutter on the last rivet for the front trunion, I had a angle grinder cutting wheel explode in my face, and I bent the hell out of trigger guard jig. All said, I got the receiver built! 
Not paying attention caused me to nick this rivet. 
I got squish happy with the bolt cutters and forgot to place the protection on this rivet. 
Inside of the trigger guard rivets are ugly, but they hold tight. 
I might reshape the rivet I fucked up by shaping them with a dremel later. Or not. I don't know. |

Was going to be in SA in a couple weeks, but sold all my tools and am selling my last unbuilt kit right now 
I was down that way last week, but was busy just trying to keep my shiner dry in the river

I froze the bbl in the freezer and was able to cram that bitch in! I got a little worried because under the pressure of the press, it started to flex and bend oddly. It looks strait now, though. 
Pics to come...after I buy a retaining plate and selector. It came with a selector that is full auto, so since I am for protecting endangered parts, I need to get a semi selector and a retaining plate or some e-clips to hold the pins in. All in all, I am pretty impressed I got it together. Hopefully, it is a functioning weapon and shoots strait despite the flexing of the barrel. |

If you mean disconnector just buy the Tapco G2 trigger group. Counts as three compliance parts and they work well. Looks like yours needs the single hook. |

It came with a full auto selector switch, I think. The selector switch has a real long arm that would not install with the Arsena FCG I installed. I went ahead and ground down the selector arm and now it seems to work adequately. I also bought some e clips from Home Depot earlier today and installed those as the hammer and trigger pin retainers. I'll take some pics in a bit. Also, I was at the gun show today in San Antonio and I saw a stamped Poly-Tech AK NIB with the underflding bayonet. The guy only wanted $875 for it, but it was .223 so I passed it up. It was beautiful, though. |
| Congrats on the build. I use case lube when i press on the barrels ( both room temp). As for the selector,,,,,,,,put it in the rifle then wind it backwards and lift it over the rivets and selector stop. the arm itself is spring type steel and will allow you to lift it over the rivets without damage to the selector lever. |

Nice looking first build.
Don't worry about the minor stuff, as long as it functions you built it right, you can always come back later and fix the problems. As for getting in the safety selector. Put in the hammer first, then the selector, then the trigger. This way it won't be in the way for putting in the hammer, and you put it in the fire position to get it out of the way for the trigger to go in. |
