I'm collecting the necessary parts to begin building a Yugo RPK.  I've always dug the look of this one in particular and have the complete kit. One detail I've run into is in the receiver.  The NDS-5 receiver for the M70AB1 lists for $85.  However they list the proper receiver for the M72 as NDS-9.  And without picture note it's only difference being the top cover retaining screw holes are missing for the extra $20 on NDS-9.  Is this an actual issue?  While I don't want to bastardize the build, aside from the obvious 922bs req's, my intent is to make a nice piece.  Not exactly a military style build.   Is it worth the extra $20 that could be spent toward the Red Star FCG?

Check the rear block in the kit you have. Is the block inletted for the top cover locking pin parts? Are these parts included? If not, and you build with the NDS-5 receiver, there will be two rather large holes in the receiver that will not be filled. If you are okay with this aspect of the build, then go ahead and get the NDS-5 receiver. If you do not want two unused holes in the receiver, then get the NDS-9 receiver.

The rear block has no provision of holes other than the two rivets and stock screw.  I see on the site where these extra holes are in relation to the rear block and realize my mistake now.  Yup, the extra $20's the ticket!
