If you want a truly professional looking result, have a professional do the lettering/engraving.  I have done the lettering on a few of my builds using a steel stamp set (looks like shit) and a dremel (also looks like shit), both ways were legible, but both ways looked amateur.

That's good advice, I'm just envisioning all sorts of problems finding someone willing to touch these "evil" guns BTW do you have a link or something to show exactly what is supposed to be engraved and where?

You are not required to put your information on your receiver unless you are a manufacturer.

TITLE 27––ALCOHOL, TOBACCO PRODUCTS, AND FIREARMS

CHAPTER II––BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES,
                         DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

PART 478_COMMERCE IN FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION––Table of Contents

                     Subpart F_Conduct of Business

Sec. 478.92  How must licensed manufacturers and licensed importers identify

firearms, armor piercing ammunition, and large capacity ammunition feeding

devices?

Again.  The regulation applies to LICENSED MANUFACTURERS, so unless you have some sort of FFL hanging on your wall proclaiming that you are a licensed manufacturer, this doesn't really apply to you.

I get it Dale, I don't HAVE to do it. I WANT to do it anyway as I said before.

I just want to make that clear because this topic comes up on a very regular basis.
