A long time ago I had written about my AK build, a Hungarian, that slapped me smartly on the cheek-weld every shot. It turned out it was a combination of the slant brake and maybe the rigid 1.6mm receiver that was the culprit. Before long I sold the wood furniture in frustration and left the rifle in a corner to gather dust. An Ultimak later and with an AMD 65 handguard and Romy folder here it is again...I know...ugly, but fun to shoot! I tested it out and with about 40 rds no probs aside from being soaked in a thunderstorm.
