Anyone have some info on how to build the inside of the Bulgarian ak74? I am stuck on the trigger assembly and hammer and springs. |

Thanks That is what I wanted to know. If I was to keep this trigger group do I leave the spring on the trigger still for a spacer after removing the rate reducer? I wanted to test fit everything together then order the US Compliant parts. First build and first AK. My son and I got into a mess here LOL. He got his first job last summer and wanted to buy an AK. Being in CT we can only get an AK-74. And stupid me talked him into getting a kit to save money but I think we could of bought a complete AK-74 for less :) I started looking for a build party near CT and of course good luck in New England finding one(anti gunners). So I did the U drive method (which I now see is taboo) and welded the four rivits on the inside of the receiver and red loctite on the rest. looks good and feels strong I think it will stand the test of time. Would I of did it the right way? you bet if I had a party around. Now I need headspacing gauges which brings us to the price of a fully built AK -74. If only I could go back in time LOL.

| don't worry xcell,I have a feeling you will build some more.people have screwed em together since it all started and have been fine.once ya get into it you can always come back and rivet everything.as for the spring, you don't need it with the rate reducer gone.the spacer takes up the space the reducer leaves.the new FCG has all ya need.if you were to use the original FCG then leave it as is if you go for a different route on the 922r parts count.myself personally,I always use the original FCG and make up for the parts count elsewhere, mag followers, floorplates etc.it just doesn't seem right,to me,to take the heart out of a fine weapon and stick an artificial pumper in,again just my preference.you will do just fine with anything you do to it.just be vigilant with the headspacing..good luck and good building.. |
