It came with my jig but i dont know what it is or how to use it. I even used my jig this weekend to install my trigger guard and i didnt even need this. What is that thing!?

| That is the part that goes between the flat plate and your press. The notch is to fit around the center support. You put the rivets through the trigger guard , selector stop and through the holes in the receiver to hold the trigger guard on. Then the rivet heads are supported in the large part of the jig, (the part with the 5 divots). The flat square plate is placed over the ends of the rivets that are sticking up inside of the bottom of the receiver. The small plate with the notch is the placed on its edge , notch down, and you crank down on your press, the notch plate presses on the square plate , which in turn flattens out the ends of the rivets and secures the trigger guard and selector stop to the bottom of the receiver. Be sure to put the selector stop on the correct way. |

Ah Ha! Thank you.. Yeah i knew how to use the large piece and the flat piece, its just the notched piece which threw me. I must have built my receiver out of order then... I had not installed the center support at this point... In this order I... Installed front trunion Spot welded rails installed trigger guard installed rear trunion finally center support Did I do any harm to the reciever in this order? Everything went together fine. |
Your mag and top cover fit will answer that question for you. If your mags lock in correctly and your to cover is not too tight or loose, you are good to go. Next time install the TG first, then use a mag to locate the front trunnion, then use your top cover to properly locate the rear trunnion. |

LOL, if I had known that piece was called the selector stop, I would have put it on the right way. I thought it was the trigger guard support plate or something, and it seemed to have extra clearance for the mag tang on one side, so I installed it backwards. It was obvious once I moved the selector a few times. One of these days I'll order another rivet set just to redo the trigger guard and stop. |
