looks very good to me!! rear rivets look better than my first attempt!
Only thing that I see that I would suggest a change on is to take a small round file to the trigger and hammer pin holes (go very slowly) and you'll get a much better fit. Assuming that's an NDS-3 all of mine have needed fitting on the pin holes...just file, check, file, check, etc until it goes in all the way.
looks great!

did you cut the lower hand guard or buy it separately...if you did the cut then it turned out better than many I have seen.

Nice build, let us know how it looks at the range.

Thanks. The trigger pins are not in all the way because I'm waiting for my US trigger to get here. Need to be compliant. The rear rivets are ugly but not bad for my first build. The handguard is a left over from my WASR. I wasn't sure about cutting the original.  Feels great knowing I built it.

Which flat did you use?  How about finish?

No flat. I used a 100% NDS-3 Receiver. For finish I am going to use Molly Resin. I got to get this out to the range and make sure it works, then on with the paint.

thats a great job on the rivets! I have built a few and still cant get the rear ones to come out that good. Do you use a jig of some sort? I havent maybe thats why they arent as good. Now you need more.

Good to see Texas is well represented here, what year G kit is that? Reason I ask is cause I have some late 70 to about 86 ish and your "G" looks to actually engraved deep. I have some so thinly scratched on that when I refinish "Gunkote" The G is gone.

Thanks Tex! It's a 1978 kit. I used a metal rod with a divet cut out for the long rear rivets and a bolt cutter tool used with a small divet backer piece. The G looks machine engraved. Very crisp and it's red not orange. I already want to build another and I have not even got this one painted yet. Oh, no....it's the addition everyone was talking about

Very nice first build. 2 thumbs up for 'ya.

I noticed that also, it seems 1980 was a transition year.
The pre-80 ones have the G milled and the paint is a true red, the post 80 ones look like they are electro penciled and the paint got more orange in color, and I've seen both styles dated 1980.

Thanks! Other than the "G" quality do you know if the pre 80's are better or worse?
