I have a Vepr K 7.62 x 39 which has a barrel diameter of .611". Instead of removing the barrel and having it turned down to accomodate a 14/1 LH thread. I was wondering if I could use a FAL 9/16 x 24mm LH (.562") tool and thread it myself. And then just use a FAL muzzle device. Would this work? What say you?

Whatever thread pattern you choose the barrel still must be turned down to the proper diameter.  14mm = .550 Dia.    9/16 = .560 Dia.   If you want your barrel threaded do it the right way.    HTH Patriot Armory 223
