I noticed that the trunion in the kit only has one hole in the top while the receiver has 2 holes in the top??

The kit listed is a virgin kit..never been assembled ..gas port, barrell pin, handguard retainer,....all of the holes will need to be drilled...I would say the trunion is virgin as welland just needs the holes drilled..

oo that makes sense...   this leads me to another question... how hard is it to drill a barrell pin? I know that it is a semi circular cut in the top of the barrell ...how is that kind of a cut accomplished?

you install the barrel in the trunnion headspace it
then you use a new 7mm bit and drill the hole

this isnt a super hard build but it isnt easy either

and like he said everythang needs to be drilled (well the gas port on mine was done)
and most the parts are canted and will need to be moved

By the sound of your posts, I would suggest that you NOT try this build.

Get a Romanian kit or something else that has already been built then demilled-  better yet just buy an AK already built at a gunshow.  AK's are pretty cheap these days- won't last.

Well, excuse me.

It's just that you were asking some pretty basic questions- like will this 5.45 receiver with the sidefolding cutout fit this 5.45 kit with the side folding stock, and how do you do that semi circular cut on the top of the barrel for the barrel pin.....

It appeared to me that you didn't have any experience with building AK's and I made a reasonable suggestion that you just go buy one already made as you would be in over your head.

I still think you should just go buy one already made.

Well i've only built one and it was a demilled. I'm only 19 so i'm just getting started. What did you do the first time you built one? Did you automatically know everything?
I'm not trying to be rude or anything... i just hate when people tell me that i can't or shouldn't do something because they think i can't. thanks for the help everyone I'm not even sure I'm going to buy these things even though i probably would have if the first response was "yes those match go buy it right now!!!!"  soo long

First time I built I did a little research before attempting.

By research, I don't mean busting onto the board and asking a bunch of questions, I mean reading all the threads I could find on several boards.  I printed out some of the tutorials in the gunco.net library and I thought the whole thing through before attempting anything.

I tried to get a build party together but that wasn't happening, so I manned up and did the deed by myself.  I started with a basic simple build and progressed from there.

Go ahead and buy the kit and the receiver.  You'll have fun trying to get that thing together
