During a AR armorer class the instructor gave us this as his preferred method: Attached File 20-gauge bore brush, dipped in Hoppe’s. 10 seconds and it’ll be WAY cleaner than any other manual method taking 5 times that. I shoot a ton suppressed and it makes quick work of getting it super clean. The only variation I use from what the instructor said is a blast of some B-12 Chemtool from O’Reilly’s to get the carbon/crap loosened up but whatever you have handy will work… |

The post-Sandy Hook crowd all called it the Star Chamber for some reason. I can't do it. It's a barrel extension. A chamber brush is all I have ever needed. |

I spray the extension with CLP, let it run down the barrel. Let it sit while I clean BCG. Pull a bore snake through couple times. Then tear a little square of a shop towel and shove it in the extension then push it around with a pick or small flathead. I’ll occasionally use a GI chamber brush. Never had an issue doing this for 10+ years. |
