If Bore Tech Eliminator is ammonia free why do you still hear about people using it and having patches come out blue? Or about using a nylon non bronze type brush since that will cause false positives? I thought that blue color was only something that took place between ammonia and copper? Thanks

We use other means to oxidize the copper and that is what makes our formulas so unique. If you are using Eliminator or Cu+2 and still getting blue patches, you're either using a brass jag or you still have copper fouling in your barrel.

Can't get better info than that right there. That is what I love about this forum.

Whatever they use, it's the best copper remover I've found. It's like magic.

Thanks for the reply Patrick. At least I know now that the blue color can take place with non ammonia based solvents as well. I just started using Eliminator and really like it.

I have been using it for a few years now, and have found nothing to compare to it. I had used just about all the popular brands before, and was looking for something without the strong smell.

It is like magic!
