So I've been debating on trying some new cleaners and oils out and would like it to be one brand from start to finish. I'm not really into the "do it all" types, so i'm thinking either Breakthrough or M-Pro7.
Both are "Military Grade Gun Cleaning Systems" and within a couple bucks of each other. My question is if anyone has had experience with the cleaners and oils of both brands? What were your thoughts? Did you have any problems? Which do you recommend? Thanks for any advice. |
| I use MPro7 cleaner to clean stuff, and Breakfree LP or CLP for oil. I'm happy with it. MPro7 is nontoxic and doesn't smell awful, which makes it a nice indoor bore/parts cleaner. I've thought about trying some different oils, but BF has always been a gold standard. Used to use FP-10 on my pistols, and was actually very happy with it, but have been using TW-25b for them for the past few years. |
| Over the past couple of years I've switched over to MPro7 for cleaning and oiling. I like it better than other stuff I've tried. The cleaner works well and I like the oil also. I've used Breakfree and Gunzilla in the past, but I like Mpro the best. You'll get a lot of opinions on this subject, so YMMV |

WTF is "Breakthrough"? My ex-wife had one of them at her therapists office. |

WTF is "Breakthrough"? https://www.breakthroughclean.com I ran into these guys at SHOT during media day at the range. They sent me a sample of their solvent, oil, and grease. I just shot some video for our youtube channel, which I'll have up soon. Initial thoughts are good. I used the solvent to clean up the muzzle of a barrel that had a lot of carbon build up, and it worked great. No smell, non-toxic, 100% USA made, etc., etc. I'm going to run it exclusively for the next couple months before I make a final judgement on their products. But, so far I'm digging them. I'll link the video once it's up. |
| Breakthrough sent me a bottle of their cleaner to try out and do an Instagram review for them a while back. I loved it. No odor and it cleaned quite well. One of the better cleaners I've used. Only problem is I didn't realize how little was needed to clean. I ran through half the bottle pretty quick. Now I just strip the gun down, lay the parts on a rag and give just a couple sprays over them. Never used the M-Pro7 so i cant compare it to that. |

I've been using MPro7 to clean my Walthers PPQ pistol after shooting it. I also use it on my AR15. It's pretty good stuff. I use to use Hoppe's #9 to clean all my guns for the past 40 years. MPro-7 does not have the odor that Hoppe's has. I got though the small bottles of Mpro7 quickly though and it's not cheap. But my guns are a lot more expensive than a bottle of cleaner so I don't mind too much. Shooter Choice is another cleaning solution that I tried. I also use CLP and Break Free to clean the pistol and lubricate it after cleaning. I use a ultra sonic cleaner to clean my Bolt Carrier Group on my AR15 and the rinse in hot water and then wipe it down with CLR to lube it. The sonic cleaner works pretty good but the inside of the bolt carrier where the hot dirty gases enter into the Bolt Carrier is hard to get perfectly clean. I should have sprayed some MPro7 down inside the Bolt Carrie and let it soak for a while to get the last of the carbon out of the metal's pores. |

I use the MPRO-7 bore gel and it works great. I stoped useing the oil.
Its good as a lube if u shoot soon after useing. But it evaperates really quick it is really bad for storage. I used to use it for storage and found rust spots on a few guns i used it on. I like clp and rem oil |

Wtf? I would guess you use a muzzle "break" also. |
