Hello everyone! As I’m new to this site and this is my first post! Please be nice!!! I’ve been shooting and owned many rifles and handguns, but just built my first AR!! And I cannot find any good info on lower maint as far as lube goes and how often to perform it!! She seems to stay pretty clean! But any info would be helpful… thanks

fitincmn,

I just spray either Rem Oil or Breakfree in the emchanism and clean with a cotton swab. No real need to clean every time cuz it's the upper that gets the most dirty.

My method:

Take out the buffer and spring.

Use a tooth brush and a solvent like mineral spirts to scrub everthing down.

Use Gun Scrubber or such to clean out the trigger mechansim, and around the mag and slide release.

Spray down with Rem oil or other aersol oil to lube and protect.
