I have heard nothing but good things about these 3, Whats the big difference between them.
1 gem state
2 hammerhead
3 Smith enterprises

I am looking at getting some tools so I can do some work on my ar's. I also didnt want to hijack anyone else s thread.

The Hammerhead Rifle Tool is mainly a carbine castle nut, rifle lower receiver extension, and .825 or .750 flash hider tool.

1 I do not have a Gem State wrench because I don't really like the idea of the thin barrel nut engagement plate it uses in it's design, it looks like it could be very easy to slip off the nut with it.

2 The HammerHead is a good stock wrench. The only thing I don't like about it is how far away the cutouts for the torque wrench are. I prefer the Brownells 4 point stock wrench for this reason.

3 The Smith Enterprises barrel wrench that I have has a powder coat finish that interferes with it's ability to fit correctly on anything it was made for. I do not know if current versions have the powder coat finish or not.

If I were you I would look into Spike's line of wrenches as they look pretty good. You can see them > here <

You might also want to check these out. > http://www.2uniquellc.com/#!shop--cart/c1eip

Though they do not have a torque wrench compatible wrench yet, they should in a few weeks.

BRDEngineering also has a torque wrench compatible barrel wrench coming out soon. Scroll down to see it > here <

I also like the looks of the Accuracy Speaks barrel wrench seen in this article > here <

Though you would have to remove the FSB to use it.

I like, have, and use a Spikes barrel nut tool, RRA stock wrench, and a monkey wrench (for the flash hider).

The soon to be released Mapgul armorer's wrench looks interesting.

I had a PRI and returned it... never used it because it required removal of FSB. Got the Gem State and have been able to remove some tough nuts without issue.
