Anyone have one of these? Picked up one today from Academy for $10. Couldn't find any reviews online.

I cracked it open today and gave the gun a good light cleaning. (used on a brand new AR) I have to say it's worth the $10 I spent. I threw out the hard case container it came in and threw all the pieces into a nylon pouch I have with all my other cleaning gear. If you were to add up all the parts you would probably end up spending more than $10. I really just wanted a basic kit (lost my old one) with a cable but didn't want to spend $50-70 on one of the OTIS kits.
Obviously not sure how long it will hold up long term, but for $10, who cares. |

It looks reasonable for a starter set.
My main cleaning kit is a large tackle box with everything I need for normal cleaning except the one piece rods. This is not as roomy as it sounds since I tend to buy things like bore brushes in ten paks. My vehicle kit contains an Otis military multi-cal, an Otis lens cleaning kit, a couple of bore snakes, numerous patches, SLIP EWL, broken shell extractor, and some other odds and ends fit into a military pouch. |
