on my precision rifles I use gunslick foaming bore cleaner and it cuts copper.  Any commercial ammonia based copper solvent will work great.  I havent tried it but Howa recommends ammonia based glass cleaner to cut copper in their manual.

Is there a question here?
Ammonia works but is fairly Old School. There are modern types of copper removers that are so strong and fast that you cant use bronze brushes with them. They will MELT them. Look at and read up on Bore Tech Cu+2 Copper Remover

http://www.boretech.com/products/copperremover.shtml

13 reviews on it here:

It is MUCH micer to use than ammonia based products.
barrel safe, odor free, ammonia free, petroleum free, biodegradable and non hazardous.

If you use VFG pellets you dont have to make up jags which can be a PITA

I have been using Montana X-Treme 50 BMG Solvent works real good and removes the worst fouling.

+1 on the Bore Tech. I use the bore tech eliminator with the first few patches because it gets the carbon fouling out really fast, then switch to the cu+2 copper remover to get the copper out. Works great and barrel safe.

For copper cleaning, try KG products. Their KG 12 is a kick ass cleaner. There is a thread over at the Hide where copper bullets were soaked in various copper cleaners, and then weighed to determine how much copper was dissolved. KG 12 did far better than any other product available, removing more in 15 minutes than others would do in 24 hours.

I had a barrel that I thought was shot out until I used KG products. I alternated using their copper cleaner and the carbon cleaner, because the fouling was in layers, and when I was finished I was pleasantly surprised. Not shot out, just fouled out. Worth every penny.

BTW, this is after using Sweet's consistently. Smells like it's working, but it's not.

I have yet to use a Bore Cleaner for my AR15 but now it looks like I should be. I've used the Bore Tech Cu+2 before however.

As for the Bore Tech Eliminator it says: "Rust preventatives guard against corrosion." It also claims to remove copper and carbon. I'm thinking it could take the place of the Cu+2 or perhaps should be used after in order to take advantage of the rust preventatives.
