So I've put together a field kit to go with my ARs and 9mms, but I need something to keep it in. It's in a 'banker's' type bag, which is just huge. Anybody have any suggestions? Also anything I'm missing.

replace the useless plastic jags with good brass ones, like Dewey's

For a field kit, I'd suggest replacing the cleaning rods with the shorter, steel G.I. type.  They work well and can be stored in an ammo can.  I have a field repair kit for AR15's and carry a LPK, in addition to spare parts, armorer's tools, pins and punches.  I plan to add a spare bolt assembly as soon as one becomes available from Stag. I also include an old towel, which helps keep gun parts from rolling off the table in the field.

I store all of this in a fat-50 ammo can and I have room to spare.   You might want to give it a try.

I order new jags, they should be in tomorrow. Changed to a shorter rod set I had. I'll be expanding the spare parts and tools as funds are available and items come down in price. I also got a surplus Otis kit on the way. Thanks for the help.

M16 cleaning kit pouch or various ammo pouches depending on overall sizes.
