After you guys shoot do you wipe down your BCG/lower to remove excess oil for storage? Then before you go shooting re-lube everything?

or do you keep the gun lubed up 24/7 ready to go?

Im sorry if this has been asked before. I checked FAQ and couldn't find anything.

I have been lubing my AR before shooting then just storing the gun as-is until cleaning every 500 rounds. However, before my last range trip my BCG was dry and built up with crud but when i stored it the BCG was slightly wet and relatively clean (only shot 30 rounds).

Thanks everyone.

PMCS after every range trip. this includes cleaning and oiling, more oil for longer storage normal oiling for short term.

I'll swab the bore and add oil if need be before shooting.

Clean all ARs and pistols with CLP and lube with EWL after each shooting so they are GTG. If I am busy it may be a few days before I get to clean them.

I havent had the time to buy some better lube, but i clean right after shooting and lube with some rem oil so that she's g2g.  I have to re lube before the range trip because rem oil seems to evaporate on me

Throw oil on stuff before going in check to make sure everything is still wet when I go shooting if not relube.  MAYBE punch the bore.  Clean it fully whenever I feel like.

I use slip 2000 gun lube and slip 2000 ewl to lube my BCG and it has been wet for 2 weeks now since ihave cleaned it from shooting. I recommend you buy some slip.
