Breakfree CLP = Sarfariland CLP = Winchester CLP.

All are owned by BAE.

I have not, but my stuff is about 1/2 year old.

op have you switiched ammo, shoot more etc?

far as I know change D has been a few years ago to make it safer around humans, now the older stuff (pre rev D) cleaned better, but destroyed your liver at the same time.
MIL-PRF-63460 Rev E is the latest.

Also the aresol version has/had a higher volatile content which made it a better cleaner.

You should really consider making a switch to something like Gunzilla.

I'm still using Royco 463 CLP that i bought milsurp 12 or 13 years ago, maybe more. The solvent hasnt evaporated and it still cleans better than most of the newer "CLP" in name only commercial products. It sure does stink compared to newer stuff like Slip2000, SlipEWL & Weapons Shield though.

I cannot tell any difference between Royco 463, the Breakfree CLP i was issued in 1989 or the off the shelf at the gun store Breakfree CLP I've bought. It all looks, smells and cleans the same as far as i can tell. I have read online that the newest milspec CLP has a greenish tint though. All of mine is amber brown with teflon that settles out of suspension in storage.

I have a old bottle of CLP from the early 90`s

The newer CLP seems to dry quicker than the older
and it does smell different

I have a couple new bottles with the different smell. I haven't noticed a difference in its performance though I haven't used much of it.

Different smell, same great stuff.  This is all I like to use for cleaning, but for extra lubing factor, I like to coat the bore and BCG with Slip 2000 EWL.

IMHO...suggest you think about switching to another product.  I ran with CLP for 20 plus year...brought up with the military mindset and all that.  A few years ago, after I started shooting way more than I ever have, I started reading about some problems others were having with CLP, and started seeing some of those shortcomings myself.  So, I went cold turkey on CLP and have been using other products that I like much better.  Hey...CLP was great stuff back in the day...but times change and better products are now available, again IMHO.

YMMV...best of luck...
