How often (if ever) do you remove and clean the ejector, bolt ejector port, and ejector spring?  I've never taken the bolt down that far, and am wondering if it is necessary (or at any "per round" intervals).  The only maintenance I've done on the ejector has been to soak it with Slip EWL and work it in and out with a cloth covered pin punch to soak up the carbon.

I take mine all the way down about every 1000-1200 rounds, but I run some dirty ammo. YMMV

If I check headspace, notice a change in ejection pattern, or I see a problem during normal cleaning.
I would also change the spring if I severely overheated the weapon.

I tear mine down every time I clean and I shoot and clean a lot.

I don't think it's necessary though.  I think it would perform even if I didn't.

I just like them clean so I do it.  It doesn't add much cleaning time.

Edited to add:
If you use air to blow stuff out, be careful not to blow the spring (or o-ring) off to never never land.  I speak from experience.

Thank you for clearing that up and I hope I didn't cause any confusion. I must have read too quickly.  I was speaking about the extractor, of course.

Thanks again.

No problem, Josh.  Whenever I clean my BCG, the extractor gets it.  I've never (military nor civie) taken out the ejector, and I (to the best of my old memory) never saw anyone take the bolt down that far.

Thanks to all for the info.
