| I ordered a new upper a little while back with a chrome lined DD barrel and am thinking about ordering cleaning products now. I know they are a lot easier to clean, I'm just curious how you guys clean your chrome barrels and what, if any products you use before I go ordering anything? |
| Thanks guys. This is my first AR and currently I don't have any products so any recommendations would be appreciated. I plan on picking up some Slip 2000 ewl for lubricating, do you think this is all I need to clean as well or should I get something like Bore Tech Eliminator that cuts copper along with it? |

+1 on the Bore foam, it is a lot easier.
On ARs, you shouldn't have to be too picky. Whatever you want to use if you have a favorite. Of all my guns I find ARs seem to have the least issues with corrosion. Regular Break-Free CLP is widely available and cheap ($10 for a 12 oz can). ETA: all that stuff should be available local, some of it gets awful expensive with shipping. |

Saves on shipping and cost of product, also you may get a price break. When George was at fp-10 I used is pl-10 buy the case (lots of zerks on older cars) So I would get a price break on orders when I placed them from vendors. |

It is my understanding that you shouldn't use form foam on gas impingement and piston systems as the foam can get up into the gas tube and dry up . The Breakfree foam stuff I use dissolves and evaporates if left alone so no issue there. I use it and send several patches through the barrel nothing more should be required in a chrome lined barrel. |

Have seen the same caution but thus far not an issue. Foam the bore and let it set right side up. I use the gunslick (sp) brand. It says not for use on gas operated rifles. I'm on my 4th can. No problems. What I do. 1. spray in bore 2. let sit muzzel down for anywhere from 15 to 30 mins. 3. dry patch (jag). 4. Wet patch (jag) oil. 5. run bronze brush (sometimes) 6. Wet patch 7 dry patch 8. wet patch 9. done 10 drink beer. |

I hear that step 10 is the most important and that after a long day of shooting you should start with step 10 and then repeat after step 5 and step 9. Thanks for all the advice I'll definitely have to pick up some bore spray. |
