I was at the range today and after  I collected my my brass I saw all the scrape marks down the lenght of the brass I was shooting win .223 sorrry dont have the box any more to tell what the weight was  I think 55gr.
Iam useing my DTI 16' 1-8 twist HBAR  with an OSP 16 gas piston kit  standerd buffer and spring. There is some marks I think from carrier tilt  but I have nothing to campare to. I will try and get some photos up asap.

Piston or DI, AR-15s are hard on brass. That is normal. Nothing wrong with your gun as long as it if functioning fine. Throw them in the tumbler and reload.

Carrier tilt causes wear to the buffer tube. Maybe what you are seeing is scratches from the lugs in the barrel extension?

Bear in mind the ejector spring preloads the cartidge case to ride against the right side lugs of the barrel extension as soon as it clears the chamber upon extraction.
