Tried it. Didn't like it.
Couldn't get over the shit smell. I'm sticking with CLP and TW25B. |

Additionally, I don't recall CLP smelling wonderful. Youve never been in the Marines then...hmmm CLP..smells great after a FA Mag dump with a sloppy wet BCG. lol |

Mobil 1 has a very slight, yet inoffensive odor compared to many of the other "gun-specific" products out there. I'm surprised that anyone finds it (or any motor oil) to be an issue.
Beats the livin' heck outta CLP, too. showed that to a friend saturday. his clp coated bolt was bone dry after like three mags and after 300 rounds of .223 and 2,000 roands of .22lr my bolts were still slick with mobil1 |

Picked up a bottle of M1 20w50 at a bike shop on the way out. My friend just rolled his eyes and chuckled at me because I refused to use his lubricant. Once afield (he was using Militec) his rifle went "jammomatic" after the first 150 rounds, couldn't get more than a few (3 or 4) rounds down the tube without some sort of malfunction or complication. He then asked me if I was having any problems (we had the same rifle) and laughed at me again when I reminded him of what I was lubricating my rifle with even though his gun was the one with the "hiccups". He bitched and moaned for the next two hours, finally got frustrated enough to ask to "borrow" some of what I had, thereby alleviating his problems. He picked up a bottle of M1 20w50 on the way back home. I think that his actions said it all. |
