I am looking at gun cleaning products for my new AR and I stumbled across the Patchworm. Has anybody had experiences with this product? This thing is looking awesome for $10. I would think that it would work well enough to get the bore nearly spotless and it can work with a wide variety of calibers. I have done some research and the majority of posts are I love this thing, I'm afraid to use it because it might break/get stuck, or it doesn't do as good of a job as a traditional cleaning rod. And I don't see how It wouldn't do as good of a job as a cleaning rod. Maybe using a jag will get you slightly better results but I'm thinking this will be just fine. Thanks

I've used them on my 10/22 and .22 pistols for years and they are great for that purpose. They are pretty much the only thing I use on rimfires anymore because you don't have to worry about damaging the crown with them.
I've only used them a few times on my AR's and then mainly to add or remove oil from the bore, etc. They are a decent alternative to a bore snake if you are the type that doesn't want to use a brush on your bore, but they dont get as tight a seal as a normal rod or even an otis kit. |
