Was wondering what the material is under the ejector spring on my AR, the little base it fits onto? Is this safe to dunk in solvent when cleaning? It is hard to see it and I had heard some were actually made of plastic or rubber. Please advise, Thanks.

no material, but a metal spring under the ejector.

the extractor has a poly bumper.  If you want to soak just pull the extractor from the bolt before soaking.

Wrong terminology, that was what I meant the little bumper under the spring on the extractor. So am I to understand that once you dissasemble the extractor I should not expose that little spring and bumper it is seated on to any solvent?

I've hit mine for years with Hoppe's no. 9.   No ill effects.

I can see something like MEK causing problems.
