Ok, figured i'd try something new, normally i use hoppe's elite gun oil, but wanted something that stayed "wet" a lil longer. Bunch of guys around here have been telling me to try moly grease. I got some Valvoline SynPower Bearing Grease last night and used a light layer on my bolt and on the carrier, mainly on the 4 slides, i still used a drop of oil on the gas rings and the gas tube. Me and my g/f shot 320 rounds of the cheapest ammo i could find(Monarch red box). Everything worked great and not one mis-fire. Cleaned the gun tonight and bolt and carrier still had a light coat of grease and everything whiped off easy. oh yeah, this is a cheap dpms sportical 5.56. Just figured i'd let yall know if you are looking for something to stay "wet" a lil longer give it a try, and the valvoline synpower contains no graphite.

I use the same stuff on rifles that specifically call for grease, like the M1 and M1A, but I've never tried it on an AR because the lube requirements for the AR do not call for grease.  If it works for you, that's fine, but I doubt I'll try it.

Well on my other older rifles i use gunslick graphite grease, Just figured i'd give some info on how it worked for me, not telling anyone that it is the very "best" or telling anyone that they need to use it, as i see a lot  on here, Just know it worked great for me, i'm heading to my lake house this weekend, probably sunday, to give it a try with a few more rounds this time, i'll post if i have any trouble out of it, also testing out this sportical to see how it really does using cheap ammo.
