I have the Otis cleaning kit that comes in a tan pouch. It has a flexible rod instead of a solid rod but I cannot get the rod through the barrel with the brush and swab installed. I have not shot the rifle yet, and I doing something wrong or will it be looser once I put some shots down the barrel?

Are you trying to push or pull it through the barrel?

Well I obviously didn't know and like I said before my kit didn't come with the manual so I didn't know about the bar used to pull the rod through.

Thanks again sd_norske for actually responding to my post without unnecessary criticism and actually answering my question.

You know , this is one of those things that you scratch your head and just doesn't seem to work and then when someone helpfull comes along and gets you to
turn things around (literally in this case!) you can feel like a dumbass but we all have a mental block from time to time.
Don't let the turkeys in the peanut gallery get you upset

We all do it from time to time!

I don't often use the Otis kit for day to day cleaning but it travels in my range box and it sure is handy to have everything you could possibly need in one compact pouch
