Do I need to lubricate a new BCG and if so what kind of lube should I use.  Do I just lube the whole thing?

Thanks and sorry if that is a dumb question.

CLP....

Wipe down the entire thing with a light coating of oil, apply a lot to the bolt.... when you reassemble, spray oil into the two holes exposed at the ejection port.

I have recently (last day or 2) seen a thread on what type of lube for BGC. There I found a link to a you tube clip that showed how to lube BCG. It was informative.

I would have to disagree Forrest.

The weapon should be lubed the same amount regardless of the anticipated number of rounds one expects to fire.

Wear is wear, regardless if you fire 20 rds or 200 rds. The wear is identical.

And the weapon is lubed not to simply prevent wear. You're also lubing for corrosion prevention. So lube IAW the -10 Operators manual, or my lube chart tacked on page one of this forum, and you can't go wrong.

first take apart and clean the bcg from whatever grease it was packed in.Then liberally coat every piece with a nice layer of,"gun butter".  Run it wet, thats what i always do.
