I posted this on another section, but didn't get an answer.

If the barrel is removed from an AR, but all of the original parts (bolt group, ect) are used again upon reassembly does the headspace have to be measured?

If I was to take a AR apart then put it all back together again using the same stuff, no I would not worry about the headspace on that weapon.

The head space is determined by the barrel extension which is essentially attached to the barrel, meaning you cannot change it.  Using a really worn bolt or extension may alter it though, but it would need to be BAD.  The extension is the part with the lug recesses.
