Hello,  I am new to this sight, first post.  I was wondering if anyone has used or has an opinion on using Aerokroil to clean your AR-15?  Good bad or indifferent thanks for the input.

I’ve used it.

I saw no real improvement over traditional bore cleaners.

It's pretty toxic and smells way too bad for me.  I use the Quib method.

I use it in conjunction with USP bore paste for bores that have high round counts.  These barrels tend to foul quickly and badly.  Standard (or high-test) NH3 containing solvents need help in such cases.

It is also the world's best penetrating oil, IMO.

I’ve used Kroil in the aviation industry for years. When used for it’s intended purposes it’s great.

Kroil and Mouse Milk are two of my favorite products for loosening rusted or corroded hardware. When I worked General Aviation, anything exhaust related that had to be removed, always got a squirt of Kroil before hand.

I agree awesome penetrating oil.  I have just heard people say that it works wonders on fouling and carbon.  If not that what would you suggest using?  In the military we had the old stand by CLP.  Anything better?  I am always looking to make to cleaning process as easy as possible.  Who isn't?

I am a professional auto technician, and AEROKROIL is the best penetrating oil that my shop has found.I have not used it on any firearms yet,I use Hoppe's #9 solvent on the bores and Hoppe's #9 lubricating oil on everything else and never had a problem.I'm not sure if the AEROKROIL is as much a lubricant or solvent as it is a rust penetrant. It wouldn't hurt to try,but it is a little pricey.

I also used it in commercial aviation component overhaul,  works great getting rusted bearings out of hot air valve, or any hardware subjected to turbine heat. as far as in the ar, didn't see much improvement but have heard it'll penetrate between the fouling and the barrel.

I used it to lube everything....well....almost everything! It cleans my can pretty good, and it does help with anything rusty.
