I like to put SLiP2000 Extreme Weapons Grease on Bolt/Carrier (extreme temp, stays where you put it, etc) http://www.slip2000.com/slip2000-EWG.html Then SLiP2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant on everything else (anti wear, deep penetration and doesn't attract dirt/dust) http://www.slip2000.com/slip2000-EWL.html |

Hoppe's is hard to beat for routine cleaning. 2. Use Breakfree LP on the bolt carier group and lugs. Use Breakfree CLP lightly on the firing pin. Use CLP everywhere else. 3. CLP will clean the barrel; so will Hoppe's. If you get copper deposits, use Sweet 7.62. If you go out into the field and can only take one product, I'd take CLP. Cleans, Lubes, Protects. |

Do we really need the personal attacks in the tech forums?? You know English isn't everyone's first language. The guy is just looking for some advise, cut him some slack.
His response was edited. Quib __________________________________________________________________________________ I used mostly Hoppes and Breakfree CLP, but next time I'm out I might be looking at the Slip2000 products. |
| I am not in the forum for problems I only am so that I need help, the FallingDown user it begins to take me offense without to have said nothing to him to and i feel discriminated to me by not knowing English perfectly users as they are those that damage a professional forum like this |

BreakFree-CLP (Cleaner, Lubricant, Preservative) is for cleaning the rifle, cleaning the barrel and for lubricating & protecting the entire M-16/AR-15 rifle. http://www.break-free.com/?location=/products/index.asp If needed, I may decide to use Shooter's Choice Bore-Cleaner to clean the inside of the barrel. http://www.shooters-choice.com/mc7.html |

I use breakfree clp on pretty much everything and its been doing a great job. I have both the spray can and aerosol can. I use the aerosol can for the places where i cant reach to scrub.
Also go out and get yourself a boresnake from hoppes . It will save you a lot of time in cleaning your barrel. Just put a little clp on the front end and run it through your barrel two or three times and your done. I also went out and purchased 12 guage shotgun patches. they really help when cleaning the bolt carrier, firing pin, etc. |

If you don't like Slip 2000 Products. I would try Shooters Choice FP 10 or Firepower 10 for oil and barrel lube and use Hoppes Regular or Copper Solvent for General Cleaning. Sweet's 7.62 Solvent for extreme copper build up-Don't leave in barrel more than 15 MINUTE. Break Free Power Blast is hard to beat for an aerosol degreaser. But, I'll tell you after 25 years of shooting and cleaning guns nothing beats Slip 2000 and Ive gone through generations of products. If anyone knows of a better product that is as economical please e-mail me. |

For cleaning I use Hoppe's number 9 solvent. As for lube, I like Hoppe's number 9 gun lube.

Believe or not I tried useing Mobile 1 0W oil to lube the outside of the bolt carrier and the surface of the charging handle. I figured that modern synthetic motor oils are prolly way ahead of gun oil tech. The reason I used it because I like to target practice and unfortunately I can only do that outside (highs around 15) in Michigan. It really worked well. The oil bound to the metal and the even moving the bolt was smooth - It really improved the metal on metal feeling I got when using Rem oil.
Dont get me wrong, 0W oil worked for me, but I'm not sure how good it is at repelling moisture so on other parts of the rifle to prevent corrosion I still use Remoil. Good Luck! |

CLP works great, but then again, I normally use whatever gun cleaner/oil I happen to have lying around, never had any problems. I agree, I do samething, I happened to have right in the cleaning circle Slip2000 and FP10. A few months ago I had CLP for everthing, cleaning, lubing. A few month before the CLP I had a bout with RemOil.....Next month, who knows..... |

Hoppes #9 or Breakfree foaming bore cleaner for the bore.
Breakfree CLP as a general all-around cleaner ( internals ) TW25B on the hammer and trigger pin areas + sear surface. This is when I have the desire and or time. If I'm at the range or out of some items, I'll just hit it with CLP in all areas. As an all-around product, CLP is hard to beat. Cost is fair, results are great, availability ( USA ) is very good. Lastly, welcome to the sickness. ( This group and AR's in general )
