Just picked up an LMT rifle. Wanted to know if I should clean and re-lube before first use or if I'm able to shoot it right out of the box?

- Disassemble
- Clean
- Inspect
- Lube
- Reassemble
- Perform Ops Check
All IAW the Operators Manual. Then enjoy your new rifle.
I like to go a tad bit heavy on the lube when dealing with new rifles. At least until components get a chance to wear into each other.

Thanks everyone. What can I use to remove the oil that's on it already?

A damp CLP rag should do it.
If you really want to strip it of the shipping/storage oil, a rag damp with mineral spirits will do.
