I use pliers and gently squeeze it in just enough to get it to 'click' in.

i just installed a new extractor spring from bravo company, I got their upgrade kit, black rubber spacer, and 5 coil spring, and let me tell you, it is tuff to get that pin back in, hopefully this wont be a problem, is this normal?  Sorry to hijack!

Like what was already said, use a pair of pliers to set the extractor spring.

Setting the extractor...

The replacement springs haven't been used yet so they haven't taken a set. So pushing the extractor back into place with your fingers can be a PITA at times.

What I have used is  a set of soft jaw pliers. The kind you use on a 870 magazine tube. That usually does the trick when I'm doing a whole bunch of them at one time.

I had found the same thing and it makes sense that it would be normal because of the added pressure against the sides of the pin..  It has never caused a problem.

The extractor spring can be inserted by placing it into the pocket of the extractor, then giving it a slight push and twist in the direction of the spring coil. This will keep the spring retained within the pocket.

To seat the spring into the pocket, flip the extractor over and press it against a hard flat surface. You’ll know the spring is properly installed, when the spring snaps into place.

Check out the tacked maintenance manual thread at the top of page one of this forum.

as usual QUIB is dead on...

to seat the spring i usually push it down on a counter top or the outside of an action block... as long as it's nice and flat...
