After using the FBC and cleaning out your bore, give the gas tube a quick shot of Break-Free Powder Blast.  That should be all the cleaning it needs.  I don't buy into the whole pipe-cleaner method, as i feel it is a waste of time.  YMMV.

Powder Blast on the long pipe cleaner folowed by a couple of strokes with a dry one after every thousand rounds is my deal

Sound advice above from KentuckyKiller, and the same advice which I have given to others here in the past. This has been my procedure for years regardless of bore solvent type.

ETA: Keep those long pipe cleaners out of the gas tube, they’re just asking for trouble and not necessary.

After the foam I use non chlorinated carb cleaner (<$1 a can at Walmart) to flush out the gas tube, barrel, and upper.

That's true.  JohnH at White Oak Armament, who makes the top competition service rifle uppers, tells you not to even bother cleaning the gas tube at all.  Ever.  And if you are going to do it anyway, the method you've given is probably the quickest and is good enough.

Yep, it's what I do, and every time I do it I get some more blue gunk running out the end of the barrel, so yes, you WILL get stuff in the gas-tube with FBC. Is it the end of the world? Nah, but why not get it all the way clean?

The gas tube is self cleaning & pipe cleaners SHOULD NOT be shoved in there. However, getting a lil bit of foaming cleaner in there while cleaning the bore shouldn't be a problem.
