| Which product is the best lead remover for pistol barrels? |
What kind of pistol is it? If it is one with a removable barrel, soak the barrel in a zip-lock bag filled with Hoppes #9 for 2-3 days then brush it out with a bore-brush and patch. Should be VERY clean. I did that once with my SIG. |

A 50/50 mix of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide will remove lead. I wet the bore brush in the solution and scrub the bore back and forth a few times and let it sit 5-10 minutes. Patch it out and repeat if necessary. Don't leave it in the barrel too long- some people say it can etch the barrel, although I've used it and never seen barrel damage. I rinse the bore with scalding hot water and use a lightly oiled patch to finish up. You also need to be careful around blued surfaces. It can damage bluing. |
