I have a few nicks on my upper. What is a good way to hide them & make it black again that won't look like crap?

For temporary fixes some guys use a black sharpie or paint pen. I personally suggest you just get used to the scratches. They will inevitably happen if you actually take your rifle out and use it.

Your AR upper and lower receiver are anodized aluminum. Anodizing is an electro-chemical process. Google “anodizing” to get a better understanding.

Super Black™ Touch-Up Pens or Aluminum Black® Metal Finish from Birchwood Casey.

Never used one.

A Shapie or sgt black shoe paste works wonders.
