Anyone use this stuff?

Does it work as advertised?

I'm trying to extend the useful life of a stainless match barrel.

My first encounter with JB's was to remove 35 years of copper racing stripes from my Grandfathers M99 Savage.  It took some elbow grease but the stuff works.  Got all of the copper out.  The gun shoots much better and is much easier to clean.

I now use it on all my guns to smooth out the bore and get all the copper out.  It works like a polish.  Over the long term it makes cleaning much easier.

I've used it on trigger engagement surfaces, bolt raceways etc.  It'll even remove small amounts of surface rust.

Good stuff

I first started off using JB Bore cleaner a few months ago.  Pretty good stuff.  You don't have much of a smell from it and it gets the job done.

Good stuff but, use it to much and you will shorten the life of your barrel.

Butch Bore Shine or shooters choice no. 7 is about the best cleaner I've found so far for both carbon and copper.

For copper removal Sweets 7.62 is hard to beat.

I agree, Butches Bore Shine is fantastic stuff for carbon and copper.  I use JB when I get really stubborn copper fouling.
