| Tried to use the bore brush to clean the lugs in the upper. How in the hell are you supposed to get the bronze brush in far enough in order for the stainless brush to contact the lugs? Unless my brush is too large for the .223. I bought them at the local gun shop and the box was labeled .223. I tried to twist as I was pushing and guess what? the threaded part of the brush broke off and the brush was stuck. I had to drop the cleaning rod down the barrel several times to push it out. Ended up using a tooth brush. |

I keep a good twist going while i'm pushing it in, maybe 20 rpm. You can do this with a GI cleaning kit that you set up with a rod section as a cranking handle perpendicular to the axis of the rod. The chamber brush quickly takes a set in the direction of rotation and things ease up nicely. |
