| A while back I used a copper solvent in my barrel. Now, 500 rounds and multiple cleanings without the copper solvent later, I can still smell ammonia vapors every time I shoot. It’s not a huge deal but it kind of burns your eyes. I assume it’s built up in the gas tube. Any way to get this stuff out? |

Color me skeptical, but I'm finding difficult to believe that there is any remnant of any solvent in your gas tube after 500 rounds. Maybe some fell in your FCG and that's what you're smelling, but not in your gas tube. Let us know if you follow Quib's advice and blow some Powder Blast if the smell goes away. |
+1 let us know. I’m not saying my recommendation will cure the problem. But if you think the smell is coming from residue in your barrel or gas tube then spraying it out should help. It could very well be your ammo as the others have suggested. I’ve shot some pretty foul smelling ammo my self. |
