Ok,

So after taking my younger cousin (20) shooting with me, I decided to teach him a little bit about cleaning the AR.

The one second I went inside to grab the CLP, he somehow thought it would be wise to clean inside the bolt carrier with my chamber brush!

Needless to say he got it stuck, and we then had to pull it out. Now the inside of the carrier has light marks/scratches from the chamber brush..

Is this something to worry about?

Thanks guys!

i really dont think so.  but if worse comes to worse, a new carrier is pretty cheap.

If it's a CHROME LINED carrier, it would be nearly impossible to damage.

(p.s. it's called a chamber brush cuz it goes in the CHAMBER)

on a related note, your CHAMBER should also be chromed... if the brush can go in the chromed CHAMBER it shouldn't be a problem in your chromed CARRIER.

Some of the less expensive bolt carriers are not chromed like Olympics.  The scratches shouldnt hurt anything just lube her up.

I use a 20ga bronze brush for my carrier, fits just about perfect with just enough friction to clean it out nice.

i use a .45 brush that i use for my FAL gas tubes... it gets most of the carbon out... then i either spray it down with brake parts cleaner if it's really dirty or just run a few patches of CLP through it
