Do any of you remove your scope when you clean your AR?

I dont remove the scope on my rem boly gun so why take it off a ar-15?

I have a quick detatch under the Eotech, so it's easy enough for me to do so.  I find it easier to handle that way.

Well, that depends on the mount. If it's a "return to zero" type mount, yes. If it ring type mounts, no..........unless you just like rezeroing.....which i guess is as good as any to go shoot.:-)  But i would say no.

I either use lens caps (Aimpoint) or tape over the lens (ELCAN) when getting agressive with cleaning. I really don't like cleaner, dirt, or oil on lenses. BSW

I've found no true return to zero mounts for the AR rail. I take condoms and rubber bands and cover the glass and seems for variable power scopes. then clean away and I rinse uppers with hot water. I use hair drier after then oil. Don't let hair drier get the scope too hot.

Armalite makes a great 1 piece 30mm RTZ mount that i can take on and off my V-Match with impunity, and no need to rezero.

I have a cheap 60 dollar 6x scope that i take off the rails to clean, even to switch to the handguard at the range.  Havent had to rezero it yet to my surprise.
