During one my few-and-far-between range trips, I suddenly became the owner of a single shot AR. One round, BANG, push out stuck brass, repeat. It looks as if the extractor spring insert split down the middle and caused my spring to bend sideways and break in two. I guess they really do serve a purpose other than marking spring wieght!

It only took a few minutes to find the culprit, and even fewer to realise that if I had a small scattering of parts in the range bag or even and extra bolt I could have spent more time shooting.

I need to find that pic of Sticks parts bin again and build one.

......and before and one says "It could have been the difference betwwen life and death..." or  something to that effect, I actually thought to myself..."Crap, I'm dead."

This is the best deal out there , at least that I have found, for a spare parts kit.

Well it's not quite up to par with Stickmans spares box, but here's mine.

Quib, where can you get a clear organizer box like that? I can't find one with the tiny compartments.

I got this one at work, they were going to toss it out. But, have you tried WalMart? I've seen them in the Sporting Goods department and back in the Hobby / Sewing Department.
