Do you guys oil the firing pin>? I figure you would since it is a major moving piece. The issue is if you oil too much I would imagine it would turn into a gummed up mess and effecting reliabilty...

i just wipe down the pin with clp wet patch but wipe with a rag when im cleaning

its a major moving piece, yes. but its also hard chromed. i should be slick enough on its own. if you want to lube it you can. I usually get some lube on it just by handling it w/ my oily fingers.

so you dont want it too wet...Can this lead to reliabilty issues...?I wonder if that is the reason why I get weak hots on a primer....

Drab,

2 drops of oil on a Q-tip will lubricate the AR sufficiently to run a 7 magazine Loadout with good ammo in optimum conditions.

All that is needed on the Firing pin is the slightest whisper of a hint regarding the rumor of oil.

Just enough to keep the mung from sticking.

But then plain old dry will work almost as well, and exceed loadout.

It's just easier to clean later with a suggestion of a coat of lube.

Too much lube and like you suspect, crap starts sticking and building up.
