Well I have been using CLP to clean my first AR as that what the forum consenus has been.  I was at Jays in Clare yesterday and saw some Butches Bore Shine on the shelf.
I recall a few members stating thats all they used so I decided to buy some and give it a try.

Well im am now a Butches fan.  I cleaned my AR with Breakfree CLP until it was clean then used Butches to see what else I would get.  It got so much more I couldn't believe it.  My rifle looked like it was never cleaned.  No more CLP for me,  I will use FP10 or Slip 2000 for lube.

I have been using Slip 2000 a few times now and I really like it. I put 300 and 700 rounds through my AR and it was still nice and oiled up using Slip 2000! The stuff really lasts!

gtcpl,

Just remember that Butches isa dedicated cleaner, and nothing more.

CLP like Breakfree and FP-10 is a comprimise of all aspects in general that does 3 duties at once and will never clean like a dedicated cleaner.

CLP has it's place.
Civillians with the luxury of categorization of specific tools, cannot fully appreciate the utilityof the stuff.

That said, as long as we have the much apreciated Luxuries won by our guys in uniform.....

Pamper the darling best you can, when you can.
As a fall back or bottom line, CLP ain't bad, and the rifle will run on the stuff quite admirably if it is given attention in the proper manner and interval.

May we never have to resort to CLP as primary as civillians!
