My new Glock owners book says to keep the Copper colored grease that came with the gun from the factory on gun for as long as possible to reduce wear and help break-in.

I ordered a bottle from Glockmiester.com to try out. Has anyone ever used this grease? If so how does it compair to TW25B and Tetra grease?

I've read that the copper grease is to be used for the break-in period only.  Similar to loctite C-5A grease available from MSC Direct.

Why only for break in? Dang! I just bought some to use the grease the rails on my hand guns!

Frankly I don't know for sure, other than I can postulate that the copper flakes, mildly abrasive by nature, will speed up break in but will accelerate wear in the long run.

Again I was going by what I read and relayed it as such.  Others might chime in differently.

Glock doesn't make an AR-15.

They do make HANDGUNS

That's what I would guess.

We were told in a GLOCK Armorer's class that the grease is for use at the factory for a specific task there... by the time the gun is boxed up to be shipped off to a distributor the grease has served its purpose.

(You can leave the grease in or you can take it out right away, either way it won't make a bit of difference.)

Anyone selling that grease is just capitalizing… FYI, that grease can be had at many local stores near you for a whole heck of a lot less cash.

I’m a believer that guns & grease don’t mix, but then again it gets really, REALLY cold up here.

Dang there goes $20 bucks! My order is in the mail on it's way to me. What could I use it for other then guns so it is not a total waist?

It will not touch my guns after what you guys told me!

An anti-seize is always welcome in the firearms community.  I use it as a choke tube lube, on the mag tube retaining nut on various shotguns, on the set screws on my Ithaca M87...don't worry you'll find use for it

Skag,

Next time you put a Motor together, it's a great assembly grease/ anti seize!

S-28

P.S.

Works wonders on a new roll up door hinges!
Sorry!
