I seen threads regarding this in the past but why is this happening on my ar.  Whenever i apply breakfree clp to the rifle i get dry looking white hazy patches in some areas of the upper, notably the foreward assist area and the outside of the upper receiver on the logo side of the rifle.  The lower never develops this but the upper does.  Lower is Mega and upper is LMT.  I make sure to shake up the CLP well before applying too.  I believe the BF clp i have does contain ptfe as it says it on the back of the aerosol can but i heard that the newer version doesn't contain this?  I've seen some say that the new formula comes with a red straw which mine has.  How do i make these spots shine like the rest of the rifle?

I swear as I read this, in the back of my head I heard the old Pledge wax commercial , "Beware of yellow waxy buildup!"or something like that.

Have you tried stripping the affected parts clean with Mineral Spirits or somesuch (in a well-ventilated area, of course) to see if you get a change?

I'll try and pick up another can and see if i get the same results.  If so I'll oil the parts, wipe it off then apply the clp again.
