| A buddy of mine was telling me about using Kroil Oil as a cleaning agent. Anyone use this? Alone or with some other cleaner,..Interested as I have an unlimited supply of Kroil.....Thanks,Udog |

I used it awhile along with the J&B bore compound on a bench gun.Worked pretty well.If Kroil is used alone it takes a overnight soaking to get all the fouling loose...but it will work. My favorite CLP,FP-10 cleans about the same way...uses a penetrant base oil as a solvent.Just needs some soak time. Raymond |

I find that Kroil works really well on lead and powder fouling, but does nothing for copper fouling. As such, its great in my rimfire guns, and I use it in my bolt actions, and I use a 50/50mix with FP-10 in a small bottle for soaking my AR bolt or pistol barrels in. It smells ok too. It also works pretty good on rusted/stuck nuts and bolts. Better than WD-40. |
