anybody use any corrosion x as a lubricant and rust preventative?

As a rust preventative, it rated "Number 1" in my rust test.  CLP rated second place, FP10 rated a close thrid place.

I also test compatibility with Hoppe's 9 cleaner.  Because I use Hoppes as my cleaner, this was a important consideration.  I test mixtues of Hoppes and CorrosionX.  To the best of my obversation, there was no reaction.

The CorrisionX does continue to clean as it sits for several days (similiar to the way FP10 claims to work).

As for a lube, I have not been to the range yet with it.

I've been using Corrosion X for about 2 years.  It seems to work very well on all my firearms, I only use it as a lubricant.  Out in the field, I carry Tetralube, only because of the much smaller bottle.

At work, I have been using the original Corrosion X product for 3-4 years.  In one particular use, I used it as a corrosion preventative on the exterior of an unpainted steel valve.  In 2 years, I spray a new coat on every 6 months, the valve has not rusted or froze up.  The valve is located in a corrosive (both acidic and base) and hot enviroment (90º-140ºF)  with high humidity.

Living in Florida, and near the ocean, everything gets a good coating of CorrosionX. Love the stuff, use it on my reels, my SP101 that goes kayaking with me, on any electronics, or most anywhere else I can find to use the stuff.

I like to use a dedicated cleaner for doing my "super" cleaning, but the CorrosionX makes a good CLP.
