Suppose your rifle was covered in mud. What would you use to clean it? Just keep wiping it all off? Some kind of spray cleaner? Wash it all down with soapy water?

I am asking this question because of a picture I saw of a mud covered AR being shot and I wonder how you would clean that mess up. I suppose this happens to military weapons sometimes also. What would you use?

If it were me I would use a garden hose followed by massive amounts of compressed air.  And then wipe down everything up with CLP and wipe off all the excess.  The go shoot another 300 rounds rapidly just to make sure all the water burned off [:D]

water / compressed air / clp / heat is a good choice.

For the non-aluminum guns that I run through the ultrasonic with water based cleaners, typically add an alcholo rinse and blow dry  before the CLP and heat with a hot air.

I agree with the garden hose method.

Cheers!
